Ok so I got the PC a while ago. It says Optical in the back but I don't really see any place FOR the optical cable. Is there... something I'm supposed to get to use optical or what? So far I've just been direct input instead of optical. So... just wanna know. I love the sound as it is ... its so amazing. Previously I had RealTek HD onboard with optical and this just blows it out of the water but... still.http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=1%26subcategory=208%26product=15853Like... you just can't see anything for optical there.Question about Optical in/out in my X-FI ...
Anyone... have any idea?Question about Optical in/out in my X-FI ...
Perhaps you have to jam some sort of optical cable adapter in one of the rear jacks. (That's how it works for a lot of sound cards with coaxial digital outputs that have lights in them-you insert a plastic piece, and it's suddenly an optical port!)
However, the XtremeGamer does not appear to have any coaxial digital outputs. It also lacks the expansion bay header that larger X-Fi cards boast. Perhaps it has a specially-tailored optical cable adapter, for all I know.
(I can't say for sure due to not owning one, so take my advice with a grain of salt.)
I have the xtreme gamer sound card and the only optical plug in I see is round and not like a optical cable that I have for my surround sound. I know that there is a optical cable out there that is round but I'm not sure how it would word with what you are trying to do.
