Building first gaming rig

Im building my first gaming rig and i was wondering, whats a good and cheap (price-wise) audo card and hard drive that i can get? Hopefully a sound card that is under 100$ and a harddrive 100-125$ or under.The stuff I currently have picked out is...Motherboard: XFX Geforce 680i LT SLI nVidia Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad C6600 2.40GHz, 65nm Power Supply: Ultra X3 1000WRAM: 2x Corsair Dual Channel TWINX 1GB PC6400 DDR2 800MHzGPU: nVidia Geforce 8800GTHDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GBI guess i could do with less watts on the power supply and get a 750W one. The current one, the processor and teh motherboard come in a single package as a 'special', but i can get the special that has the same motherboard, same processor and 2 sticks of 1GB Corsair DDR2 RAM (same as above) and get another PowerSupply. Total price at the moment is $1400 (including a case) but i still need a sound card, monitor and im thinking of getting a different hard drive. If you guys can give me some tips or a site with some cheap, reliable parts, that would be awesome. Thanks! Building first gaming rig
the power supply is way to high/unnecessary for a 88gt. Other than that it seems like a decent rig.Building first gaming rig

[/QUOTE]unesscesery parts.quad cores don't run well with games atm, you just need a dual core, like a 6000+ or an e6600. a 500w psu is fine, and a 2900xt is fine for the moment.

it looks good, your power supply is very ott for a 8800 gt, im planning on sliing and i have a 700 watt psu, dont listen to the ati guy the 2900 xt is old now, the 8800 gt is the best card for the price atm.and the q6600 is the best chip for under 200 pounds, but i just saw a core 2 duo at 3.16 gig with the new 45 nm proscess's for ?05.00 that might be faster if you have a 45nm suported motherboard.

How about these? You know... from a reputable source? Now if you notice, it shows that in almost every game that the 8800GT beats out the HD3870, the 3870 is always within ~10 FPS of the 8800GT 512.
