650W PSU enough for dual 8800GT's?

I asked this question to the guy selling me the computer and he said yes, but I'm not too sure. My friend bought a PC from them and his PSU wasn't enough for his video card and problems ensued. So is a 650W PSU enough to handle dual Superclocked 8800 GT's?650W PSU enough for dual 8800GT's?
If it's of decent quality, then yes it will.unfortunately, the number of watts really isn't the most important quality in power supplies. Can you either tell us the exact name of the PSU (brand, model line etc...) or tell us how many amps are on the +12v rails? Also, if it's a brand like coolmax or rosewill then it probably isn't of the quality you'll want for dual 8800GTs.That said, I don't really see the point in buying 2 8800GT's considering nvidia is overdue for a new lineup and they'll be telling us all about it on feb 14.650W PSU enough for dual 8800GT's?
Corsair TX Series 650WI don't care about the new lineup of cards coming out. I wasn't waiting another month to buy my PC. Being able to get 100+ fps in Steam games is more than good enough for me.
Like I mentioned with the 620, I'm slightly uncomfortable with recommending a 600 odd watt unit for 8800GT SLI, even though the 650 has 2 more 12v rail amps. it should run it ok, though I suppose I'm a bit too much of a firm believer in only loading a Power Supply at about 50-60% or so of it's rated capacity or less. Then again, I'm also assuming you're going to heavily overclock it. :p Besides the wattage? There's actually very little in the way of detailed reviews from the big names of well, PSU reviewing like Jonnyguru and Hardocp on this particular model. I'm starting to think people are beginning to get into the automatic mindset of Corsair PSU = Good, which admittedly isn't too far from the truth. It's good lineage at least, the 650TX is derived from the equivalent model in the Seasonic S12-II line, and that's before you consider Corsair units are often improved from the OEM models they come from. So that I can tell you.
Just make sure you get a PSU of decent quality. Otherwise 650 should be fine.
