My screen freezes after 5 min of Crysis

MY rig seems to be up to date:Intel C2D E6750 @ 2.6 GHz2 gigs Crucial DDR2 RamEVGA SE SLI 680i MoboNvidia 8800 gt XFX XXX editionCoolerMaster 750W power supplyEverything seems like it should perform well with crysis but it freezes after about five minutes of play. I've made sure that all my drivers are the latest, so I don't know what else to do. Is it too much for my card to handle? Oh, and just the Shaders and Post-Processing are set to high, everything else is on medium.My screen freezes after 5 min of Crysis
I would try uninstalling and re-installing the game. Since this is a problem that I would assume, only happens in Crysis, then it is an issue with the game itself and not your hardware.Edit: but then again, I could be wrong :shock:My screen freezes after 5 min of Crysis
Mmmm, probably you'll have to download the rivatuner, to activate/desactive some of the options. Your card should be handle the game with no problems...that's strange
Make sure your card isnt overheating.Ive heard people having problems with the 8800GT where the fan only spins at 29%
your card is probably overheating....download rivatuner and bump up the fan speed
Probably heating problem. Just do as evz said by increasing fan speed to 50~60%
Thankyou all for your suggestions. I'll look into this overheating problem ASAP. I downloaded patch 1.1 for crysis which adressed issues with crashing for various reasons, I was then able to play for about an hour and a half before the screen froze. Maybe it was a combination of the game being buggy and my card overheating, now that the game isnt buggy anymore I'll try bumping up the fan speed. Thanks again
