I have a Gateway With an AMD Athlon 3500+ help i really need to run crysis
From what I've heard, Crysis just doesn't run all that well on a single core processor; it prefers dual core or quad.Generally most processors can do some OC'ing (some are much better then others and vise versa) if you can provide adequate cooling. I did a quick search on the Athlon 3500+ and read it's been able to be OC'ed from the origianl 2.2GHz to about 2.5 (give or take a little). If you can get it OC'ed, you want to make sure that the temp of the processor isn't exceeding 60 degrees C. while running at full capacity. That 60 degrees is pushing it, you'd much rather want your temp to be around 30-40 (or lower, if possible) at any given time...up into the low 50s is ok.Can i Overclock my CPU
You can't overclock a Gateway, I'm afraid. Help running Crysis? Aside from closing all possible running processes, updating your video drivers, and turning down graphic settings, you're going to need to spend some money upgrading. A new graphics card is probalby the first order of the day, although a dual-core processor would likely be a good investment as well.
i doubt you can overclock that simply 'cause you bought the computer from gateway.
like everyone has said you cant OC, i wouldnt anyways as your likely to not be able to get much of an OC from that CPU and used also need a good mobo which i doubt you have...
you can not overclock dell or any company oem
