Which of these is the best notebook for gaming and what should I do to get rid of bottlenecks if there are any? Thanks ahead of time.http://www.costco.com/CTO/HPProduct.aspx?Prodid=10029570%26search=hp+laptop%26Mo=21%26cm_re=1_en-_-Top_Left_Nav-_-Top_search%26lang=en-US%26Nr=P_CatalogName%3aBC%26Sp=S%26N=5000043%26whse=BC%26Dx=mode+matchallpartial%26Ntk=Text_Search%26Dr=P_CatalogName%3aBC%26Ne=4000000%26D=hp+laptop%26Ntt=hp+laptop%26No=2%26Ntx=mode+matchallpartial%26Nty=1%26topnav=%26s=1%26model=GT812AV%26configno=de643f19-3381-4ec6-941e-45831bc13b62http://www.costco.com/CTO/HPProduct.aspx?Prodid=10029570%26whse=BC%26topnav=%26browse=%26lang=en-US%26s=1%26model=GW772AV%26configno=403436d0-6834-4b34-9061-b6eb6d61dbc7http://www.costco.com/CTO/HPProduct.aspx?Prodid=10029570%26whse=BC%26topnav=%26browse=%26lang=en-US%26s=1%26model=GW910AV%26configno=918483d4-0131-4ac5-b8f0-6aa2217c69e4PC builder help
all three have the same integrated graphics. so they will all be the same. the second part of your question i do not understand. there is no bottleneck and you cant do anything to them anyways because they are notebooks and you can only change ram and hdd on themPC builder help
I was wondering if there were bottlenecks(something that is holding the overall performance back--weakest link in the chain so to speak) and I can mod it because those are summaries of laptops I customized on the site. I can choose basically all the features. Would a better processor help these any and which is the best overall (price, everyday use, gaming, portability)? Thanks again.
The top link above was an accidental repeat, here's the real site.http://www.costco.com/CTO/HPConfigurator.aspx?Prodid=10029570%26whse=BC%26topnav=%26browse=%26lang=en-US%26s=1%26model=GW772AV
bump. Plz help!
When it comes to gaming the weakest parts of laptops are usually the graphics cards. I don't know much about laptop GPUs, but a 7150 isn't going to run many recent games with any amount of respect. You should definitely upgrade to the 8400 if you want to game.
This is most likely what I would get. It's basically a summary of the features I picked out on the customization step.http://www.costco.com/CTO/HPProduct.aspx?Prodid=10029570%26whse=BC%26topnav=%26browse=%26lang=en-US%26s=1%26model=GW910AV%26configno=918483d4-0131-4ac5-b8f0-6aa2217c69e4
well they all have an 8400gs so will all be much the same. nothing less than the 8600gt will run new games well. the dell xps 1530 is a great midrange gaming laptop

Is there a bottleneck in here? What processor would work best with the graphics card? (AMD Turion 2.0-2.4GHz) Also, how important is the L2 cache size when looking for gaming? The IC2D i was looking at had a 4MB L2 Cache and this one only has 512KB+512KB L2 Cache (1MB). How much more would it be to get a substantially better XPS? Thanks
Found a new one lol. This looks like a middle-high end gaming laptop for $1,400 w/ tax.http://www.costco.com/CTO/HPProduct.aspx?Prodid=10029570%26search=990012%26Mo=0%26cm_re=1-_-Top_Left_Nav-_-Top_search%26Nr=P_CatalogName%3aBC%26Sp=S%26N=0%26whse=%26Dx=mode+matchallpartial%26Ntk=Text_Search%26Dr=P_CatalogName%3aBC%26Ne=4000000%26D=990012%26Ntt=990012%26No=0%26Ntx=mode+matchallpartial%26Nty=1%26topnav=%26s=1%26model=GT811AV%26configno=d236c832-d8e5-490c-96e4-e08db78dff75
What will this run and how well? Is it worth it to upgrade to this from the others??
and one other question (there seem to be a lot of them)...is the L2 Cache size important? The AMD's have 1MB whereas the Intels have 4MB and 6MB.
bump...plz help
