Im kinda stuck in this situation right now. Ill be playing a lot of games but Ill also be doing a lot of multi-tasking with 3dsmax, photoshop and other pretty heavy programs. I think the Duo should be enough though, I guess I can always upgrade to a quad later once they become cheaper. Anyway thanks I think Im now ready to get my new PC. :P

Anyway why bother buying a CPU now anyway, the Penryn 45nm's are out and are great!
Q6700 is too expensive and E8500 is better than both
Q6700 is too expensive and E8500 is better than both
Do the new Wolfdale CPUs (the E8XXX's) have better performance than the old Conroes (the E6XXX's)?
Q6700 is too expensive and E8500 is better than both
Why are people even talking about the Q6700, the Q6600 is much better value and nearly as good! But the E8500 is good if you really do just want a duel core!
Seriously, and speaking from personal experience, go with the q6600,great price/performance and you can oc it to 3ghz no problem
Yeah I decided to go with the 6600. I also took off one of the 8800GT since I will probably just use the step up program to get the 9800 series then if I want SLI with it I can get another.

dual core = hi ima budget gamerquad core = lulz i brag to poor ppl about my quad tri SLI 88ult system!if you go dual get the 45nm dual it pwnz0r5

to throw my hat in, i was fully set on the q6600 till the 8400 wolfdale came out i figure slightly better gaming performance now overclock it to 4 gig love it for a while then later when people start to see gaming performance increaces with quad core in a year or two itl be time to update anyway and their should be a 3 gig quad core for a decent price.the key is having a decent mobo and ram for overclocking, thats the main use for ddr 3 at the mo but its far too expencive so im sticking with n force 7 and 1066 mhz ddr 2or thats the plan...
