What diffrents would i get?

What diffrents would it be if my mate gave me his xfx8600gt and i sli it with my 1..What diffrents would i get?
It depends on what resolution you are playing at. Generally though SLI is good for a standard 30% gain in almost all games that use it. Fewer games will see 50% +and very few games will almost double ( very very very few )It also depends on what cpu you have since older hardware can render newer stuff bottlenecked. At lower resolutions you arent likely to see much if any difference. The higher you go in resolution the bigger the gain from SLI becomes. What diffrents would i get?

[/QUOTE]yes basically everything he said but no game will see 100% as 100% efficently practically doesn't exist.. its not really worth Sli'ing mid ranged cards people only SLI not really to get better FPS but if they game at 2560x1600 or have a 30'' panel where they need SLI to keep up with the graphics.

With out sli ing. In order to get a bigger rez would you need to have more mem on the graphic card.I have a nvidia 8600 gt oc 256mb and can only run most of my games on 124x768. I play games like sc and forged alliance and C%26C 3 and at that rez I can barly run them and in C%26C 3 it runs all on hight not ultra high just fine but on the other 2 they barly are play able.So I'm just trying to figure out how to gt sc and froged alliance to play a like medium to high settings.
With a text edited crysis config i see 100% gains at 2048x1536 so yes it does exist...slightly

Well I do have a dual core pc it is a amd athlon 3800+ 2.02 gigs of ramwith the 8600gt card there.Even with a dual core it still seems to give me a hard time with those games and I'm slowly updating the insides of it.
