Power supply, I went for the Corsair HX520w. More than enough power for any current graphics card, and even any single card in the forseeable future.Motherboard, I went for the Gigabyte GA-P35 DS3R.Processor, go with the Q6600 G0 SLACR stepping chipCPU cooler I selected the Enzotech Ultra-X cooler. You could stick with stock, but with your budget, there's no reason not to pick out a better cooler.RAM doesn't matter too much. I stuck with the standard 2x1GB OCZ stuff, as that'll be just fine for most people. You can bump it up to 4GB if you want.Graphics card, I selected a 512MB 8800GTS from BFG.I changed the hard drive to the Seagate 7200.11 500GB drive.DVD drive I took out, and replaced with the option below it, a DVD RW SATA drive from Lite-On.Floppy drive I changed to the Mitsumi floppy drive/6-in-1 card reader combo.Sound card I upgraded to the X-Fi XtremeGamer.Operating system you can choose yourself. I'd recommend Vista Home Premium, but you can get XP if you're more comfortable with it. do you think this could run crysis
Yes that could run Crysis on high settings.do you think this could run crysis
Yes it will. I just built a very similar PC(in my sig.), and I run Crysis at high settings. It doesn't run as smoothly as I would like, but it still looks amazing.
ok thanks and is ava direct like a trustable site and not a rip off site cause ill be spending some money on that
yeah if your resolution isn't that high then you shouldn't have any problem playing it on very high settings in direct 9
You might like to wait till the 28th to buy a new PC, as the 3870X2 is coming out then. It'll be the new top dog in terms of performance, but it will cost about $450 at launch.
so you think thats a good build
so you think thats a good build
Definitely. Really good choices.
28 of this month or next stupid question i guess
This month. The card comes out in six days.
where could i get it or would it be on ava?
Newegg, ClubIT, Tiger Direct, and MWave are the places I'd look for it, as it'd probably cost more from AVADirect. Just buy it without a graphics card.
