Are there any advantages or benefits of having two monitors instead of just one? The reason why I'm asking is because my mom wants a bigger monitor, but doesn't want to spend the amount of money for a larger one that she already has. So, she asked me if I wanted to trade her my 22in. monitor for her 19in. monitor and by me another 19in(don't ask why she doesn't want to pay the extra for a bigger one, because I don't know, she just says because she doesn't want to). Also, is it worth it to go from one 22in monitor, to two 19in. monitors? And lastly(except this has nothing to do with monitors), is that whenever I try to open My Documents the window crashes on me and I get the ''Windows Explored has encountered an error and needs to close''. So, why would this be happening? I tried a lot of things although I didn't know if any of them would help, including defrag, error-checking, registry fix's, system restore, and virus scans. The first time I noticed this was after I used windows movie maker and the program crashed on me, after that is when my documents would not open up for me.Thanks in advance for any advice offered.Benefits of two monitors? (if any)
For me at least the main benefits for multi-monitor setups are productivity based. Being able to have two documents open at the same time and being able to easily see both. Or having a document open and also a webpage open on the other monitor. For gaming, in some RTS games you can setup your second monitor as a large map, which would be useful. You can also treat them like one long monitor, and then have a game spanning both, although the screen gap is a bit distracting IMO, and I feel more comfortable with one in those cases.Benefits of two monitors? I've been using two monitors for years now. The extra desktop real-estate is sweet, which is really what dual monitor has to offer most for me. More documents and windows open, but being able to see everything, is great. As far as the benefit for your Mom though, it depends. If she's got bad eyes and wants a bigger monitor so she can see better, fine. If she wants more room on-screen, the resolution increase isn't really significant at all unless you're going widescreen or somesuch. And, if she's willing to buy you the 19'', why doesn't she just go dual monitor instead? She might like it.Your Windows Explorer problem? I couldn't tell ya. Right-click ''My Documents'' in the Start menu and go to ''Properties'' to see where it's pointing to. Maybe the folder's gone wacky or something...

[/QUOTE]They are all widescreen monitors, as far as my mom goes, whenever I ask her why she doesn't want to buy a bigger screen or why she doesn't just use two, like I said, she just says she doesn't want to. I think it's because she's been wanting mines ever since I got it. And she doesn't have bad eyesight.
