im kinda worried about the 8800 GTX

im NOT worryed about the performance but about how long it will last

i wont get a compete new system for ATLEAS 3 years probably 4
but i will be making upgrades to the computer,

Also when the new 9800 cards come out the prices for the 8800 GTX should go down right??
so would that be the best time to do SLi (also SLi would be more effecient and better by then)im kinda worried about the 8800 GTX

ah kk
cool
but im still wondering how long the 8800 GTX will last
also like i said im upgrading to 8800 GTX SLi at the end of this year or the last of next year
but i dont see the point in SLi right now cause its not that optimized but by then hopefully its atleast 50% better then the single card
If you're going to get two cards get 3870 in crossfire. Do not fool youself by thinking SLI will be as good as crossfire by then. There's no evidence to even suggest it's catching up.
the thing is i already got a single 8800 GTX and i dont think the 680i mobo supports crossfire

anyway i play games but im not a HARDCORE gamer, i just wanna be able to play the games i want on high settings

i still go to LAN parties and stuff but gaming is kinda a hobby, i think most of us are like that except the select few taht do everything sitting in front of there computer
i know some ppl that eat lunch/dinner and stuff in front of there computer while playing gameslol

SLI is fairly inefficient and not really worth the money, You will probably get up to 50% rarely, you will probably average 30% increase in preformance. I also won't expect anything to change significantly unless they change their format.
yeah thats the problem
some games are really good with SLi and some games are useless and some dont support it
but im gonna have a look at the new 9800 cards and maybe change to them later

and even he doesnt have his mobo yet, if he wants something that will serve his needs for 3 years at least then 3870 in CF definitly wont do

well the 8800 GTX is better and in SLi i think that will be good
but i said atleast 3-4 years without a major upgrade only changing GPU later this year or next year and then maybe more RAM if i need it
